(This is a True Story)
Kerala, God’s Own country is traditional and conservative. One can’t hold hands or kiss in public, even in parks. There’s a moral police out to throw the lasso on you. Consensual sex outside marriage is also prohibited and if caught you can be booked for Immoral Traffic. These rules are comfortably relaxed for foreign tourists.
I and my wife became notorious celebrities in the media. We organized the Kiss of Love, a grand function where lovers, and couples were encouraged to kiss each other and we kissed. We were arrested and taken into preventive custody. We became the darling of people itching for liberation.
Even our personal life is one of postmodernism. We are a liberated couple. My wife is a prominent model and has been photographed topless. I also don’t mind my wife selling her body.
I and my wife are arrested from a prominent hotel on charges of prostitution. All of sudden we are catapulted as the black sheep of the society. Even our admirers have become our enemies.
If there are multiple orientations then there can be multiple set of standards or codes for the institution of marriage. I am and my wife are quite comfortable with the idea of being multiple partners and begetting an economic motive in ecstasy. The standard codes for a traditional conservative marriage can be overruled. Yes, that’s post modernism. You don’t need to agree but at least you can have the decency to be tolerant.
My public statement on being arrested is: I am being framed.
