I am teaching in a Pentecostal school. By chance I happened to visit the office. On it was engraved: “Though shall not worship any images or carved idols of beasts or things of the land, sea and the sky or the heavens”. The accountant of the school is not a Christian. To my surprise on her screen saver was an enormous phallus carved out of stone. The top, middle and bottom part were inscribed. I became amused reading the top as transcendence, the middle as tranquility and the bottom as worship. Is there anything esoteric about the phallus other than it being a fertility symbol? Jacques Lacan has modified the phallus with the ‘phallic gaze’ and IN THE NAME OF THE LAW OF THE FATHER OR THE SUPER EGO. It’s crude to think that any law can symbolize or emanate from a phallus. To encounter an experience with the phallus is a mytho-poetic pleasure of the body. How can one think of the Phallus being divine? It’s comic to think how humans have evolved an irrationality of attributing worship to fertility symbols. If at all the phallus is divine how the fuck can it bear my angst? For me the Phallus is nihilism of the get-not. All parts of the phallus are sensitive and they have no transcendence, tranquility or worship.
He opens his journal and is writing:
a) No. of Condoms used in a second around the world: one million
b) No. of Condoms used around the world in 10 Seconds: 10 Million
c) Quantity of sperm spilled around the world in one second: 1 million liters.
d) Quantity of sperm spilled around the world in 10 Seconds: 10 Million liters.
He closed his journal by writing: ‘that’s incredible’. Truth is stranger than fiction.
A cosmic dwarf…
Robes are vanishing—
Murdered in a ritual…
Patches of dressed paint
Of twilight being
Choked by a psycho…
Cling on to my abyss
Groping for the sewer
Of twilight meaning …
I began reading John Barth’s essay: the literature of exhaustion. Grand narratives, character strengths, plot, all have become facets of the past. We can imagine a narrative that’s postmodern and called situationalism, a narrative that exists like art strips making the reader aware that creation is a ploy and a hoax. Situationalism resembles pop art; it is also a reinvention of the baroque in sense where reality and metaphysics coincide to create an ornament that’s also a fictional ambiguity. Situationalism is also minimalism and I leave a fiction in a fictional hyperbole “………………………………………………………………………..” The end of a gossip can!
I being in a remote village, Kurianoor in Kerala have no access to buying a good calligraphic pen. From my web-search, I have found the German Rotring is the best. It costs a hundred bucks. I am keen to explore Asemic writing a form of non-phonetic writing. Truth being stranger than fiction, I put my desire of owning one to the public. If you are kind enough, please be a fictional self and grant me this wish. On the other hand if you are living in reality ignore this as quixotic. You can mail it to me at:
This request is stranger as a truth and truthful as a stranger to fiction.
After being submitted by God to the Devil to endure all afflictions, God recognized the loyalty of his dear Servant and gave him back what he lost in a thousand fold. Restoration of JOB as an idiom would mean peace and prosperity after a period of tribulation and poverty. When will JOB be restored for me?
My wife hung a photo frames with the inscription: “I will be with you and bless you. Genesis 23:6” As I wake in the morning I read it for the day with a lot of hope and joy. By evening I read it and smile an ironic smile of a witch. Words: how much I have to endure as patience?
By the time I woke I almost forgot the dream I saw. I dreamed of oil and as I was using it the more of it was getting replenished. Oil has a sacred, symbolic meaning in Jewish culture. The prophets used to anoint Kings (for example David) with oil and they used to bless them. In the new covenant of the master too Oil is used to anoint and bless. I take the dream symbolically as a blessing. As a secular meaning I interpret it as being fecund and prosperous and having more than enough.
