I know that schools all over in the World have not incorporated Philosophy in the curriculum. Why? They want to pay homage to their theologies of nationalism and religion. The government and the state are not eager to produce rational, skeptical and enlightened thinkers. Now what would Philosophy offer to the students? I would say that it would offer them everything to become blessed with rich panoply of Humanistic thinking. It would blend them as human beings who balance culture, religion and state ideals with holistic thinking that would be analytical, passionate and realistic. The world would become composed of better human beings. There would be inter-racial and international tolerance. If Education has produced Jihadists it is the inherent problem of Education. A philosophical outlook in students would reduce their need to become possessors of the ideologies of culture like State, Government, Religion and Economics. A philosophical outlook would enable the students to distribute the riches of the rich to a vast majority who are undergoing physically, mentally, socially and economically challenged backgrounds. A philosophical picture would imbue students to rise above the statutes of narrow parochialism and jingoism. A philosophical influence would endow the students with an aesthetic outlook that far surpasses national ideologies of culture and religion. A philosophy of culture would enable the students to integrate a weltanschauung of reducing the gap between white collar and blue collar workers. A philosophy learning would induce the processes of learning to appreciate differences of culture, yet remain committed to work for the ethos of the common good.

I would like to say that at the outset that I am a Marxian and Gramscian, when I think of global corporatism followed as ideologies of education in the world. I would like to start by commenting on the educational ideologies offered as sums of capitalist money for schools who have adopted Cambridge and International baccalaureate curricula. These educational ideologies occupy privileged positions of gospel in both rich and poor countries, privileging the capitalist class, their ideological institutions and marginalizing the middleclass and the subaltern in those countries where a large mass of people come from social, economic, castetist and famalialy challenged backgrounds. These institutions, the Cambridge and the Baccalaureate, end up sad to say, demeaning the masses of developing countries by creating a money elite who then flock to their own shores, pay exorbitant sums of money and earn foreign degrees and then try and settle down there. Even if they come back to their mother countries, they become hegemonic instruments who dominate the society’s cultural, religious, social and economic institutions and they thereby become the top echelons of power adding on to the super structure of the society. I would like to illustrate an example here; a poor underpaid Indian watchman working in an International School in India, travels by the jam-packed local bus early morning and leaves his son in a government school where the medium of instruction is vernacular. He then approaches the International School to perform his duties. Imagine what would be his state of mind. What strikes me most as cruel and despicable is that the same International school pays a much lower amount as salaries to natives and pays a huge amount of money to expatriate teachers. The international ideologies perpetrated by the International Baccalaureate and Cambridge propagate vaingloriously the myth of creating Global Citizens. Yes, this happens when these students have the buying power to pay huge sum of fees, be able to travel to foreign countries or become absorbed as a local country’s elite. But global citizenship is a myth propagated by the ideological apparatchik of the IBO and Cambridge. It’s an opportunism of helping native speakers as conduits of expensive labor in poorer countries. Again it shatters into an oppression of the Working classes in countries that have an elite bourgeoisie and a poor proletarian. International globalism creates a conducive environment for the rich capitalists and their crony politicians to exploit their poorer brethren. I would like to quote my own example. The Ambanis of India run an elite school in Mumbai for the stinking rich. It’s an irony that they pay enormous sums and gratify expatriate to teach in their schools. They show callous disregard for educated Indians who can qualify for their teaching posts and work at a much more competitive salary. I would also like to quote another example: I once did take a life insurance policy from the Ambani group and I paid a premium amount of Rupees 10000. Sad to say after that, I became broke and was not able to pay any further. When I went and asked the insurance authorities can I take back the premium after deduction of charges, I got the blunt reply that I have to pay two more premiums to reclaim the money. What a ridicule and mental trauma was I subject to? Again it has come to light that they Ambanis have huge sums of non-taxed money stashed up in Swizz banks. Where is the character and integrity of Capitalists who are given accreditation to run Cambridge and IB institutions? It is their siblings the Ambanis who study in your elite corporate institutions and who in turn continue the exploitation of the poor. Another peculiarity that I have noticed about International Schools especially in Asia is that they are so keen that they genuflect and employ only native teachers and preferably whites. Why are Asians succumbing to epidemic of the White Skin? Why do Asians betray their own brethren and contribute to the quagmire of increasing unemployment. It’s no joke to say that International Schools in EU countries restrict employment to EU citizens. What an ironic contradiction is this syndrome? Yes the international agenda of these power structures is to milk the rich Asians and live comfortably on their earnings. The IBO and the Cambridge ideologies claim that they are non-profit. Yet they charge a mammoth sum of money (payable in US dollars[they have an aversion to local currencies]) to give affiliation status to Capitalists who want to start schools. Where does all this money go? It goes to feed and prostitute the mouth, belly and loins of the IB Cambridge hierarchy who are not Asians or Africans. The IBO and the Cambridge hierarchies also do not mince words when comes to charging fees for each student. This gargantuan sum goes tidily as excess income and excess profits which can used luxuriously to satisfy their whims and vanities. Recently I have come to know that teachers in an International School in Jakarta (Jakarta International School) were caught for sodomizing students. The school authorities steadfastly maintain that the teachers are innocent. Are the school authorities making fools of the public and the Indonesian police? It has also come to light that the school authorities were willing to bribe and silence the parents. It should not be surprising that till now no Asian and African teacher working in International Schools has been charged for sexually abusing students. Again it’s a myth propounded by the IBO and Cambridge’s ideological apparatus that their curriculum is the World’s best and National Curricula is inferior. I would also like to contradict this statement by using India as an example. The Indian curricula are not in any way inferior especially when it comes to subjects of Science, Math and Technology. However Aesthetic and Philosophical outlook of the students can be improved by certain modifications of the curriculum Modi: “Sir Prime minster”, please use the rich resources of the IIT’s Indian Institute of Technology to make an International Indian curriculum that is competitive, affordable and a curriculum that surpasses all the standards set by the bourgeoisie IBO and Cambridge.
It was the renowned Philosopher of Russia, Michael Bakhthin who propounded the Philosophy of the Carnivelsque. He analyzed the Carnivelsque from the Novels of Dostoevsky. According to him the Novels of Dostoevsky have a conversational part of the character as distinct from the novels of Tolstoy. The novels of Tolstoy infringe on the characters with his knowledge, philosophy and what not and blah blah. Dostoevsky has freed this element of the novel and has produced characters that are possessed with the subliminal of the interiority and the consciousness of projection of external sensory events into a puzzle of living for existentialism. Now what would Bakhthin’s dialogic mean to us in everyday life? In Bakhthin’s thought it would mean epiphanazing about everyday occurrences. May be while shitting, you had an epiphany. May be while crossing the road, you met a stranger that was blind, and you helped him to cross the way. May be you jotted life’s harsh experience into tropes of satisfaction. That would be conversational as the Dialogic. May be you are successful, yet you aspire to make readers come closer to your hedge. That would be a dialogical conversation.
No doubt Picasso was a genius of Artistic creation. His Art has progressed through various periods. While reading his biography one understands that he had many women in his life and he treated them like doormats. Picasso’s art portrays neurotic romanticism on the one hand and it also shows his affinity for sexuality as stemming from the Oedipus complex. Let’s examine how Picasso’s Art depicts neurotic romanticism. For it I have taken two pictures, one belonging to the blue period (la vie) and one a picture of Dora Mar seated. The picture belonging to the blue period casts our eyes on Picasso’s developing mental thoughts and its attitude as being an incurable romantic. The painting belonging to the Blue Period shows a couple who are nude and being watched over by a Mother carrying a baby. In one dimension the painting is symbolic of realism in its meaning as an awakening of Eros. But then in another dimension there is also a symbolic portrayal of the attitude of Picasso towards the understanding of the Oedipus complex. The painting belonging to the blue period I would dare to say represents more of naturalism. There is Picasso’s thought as understanding but at the same time there is no maturity to usher Art to a new plane of development which characterizes Picasso’s later Art. Picasso’s later development in the artistic field realizes an aim to showcase art in an experimental form and that period shows the development of Art to Cubism. I have taken two paintings to present my explanation. One of the paintings is Les Demoisellses d’ Avignon or the Ladies of Avignon. I would like to say it is a depiction of a Brothel of Ladies. The ladies are cubistically busty and buxom and they are caricatured as grotesque. In this stage Picasso has learned to manipulate the Oedipus complex, exaggerate it to a symbolism of monstrosity. But does Picasso escape from the thrombosis of the original showing of Mother Goddess as a symbolic fertility Goddess of earlier religions? Does it show Picasso’s need to be intimate and vulnerable to the narcissism of an archetype of fetishes? Can Picasso’s portrayal be an exploitation of the libidinal subjectivity of the feminine, possessed, owned and diabolically caricatured in a frenzy of madness. Picasso becomes an entity who is cardinalizes his libido to a religious, sexual and mystical enterprise that disintegrates the democratic ethos of feminine sexuality. Picasso sad to say has not mastered the Oedipus complex but has become an addict to its objectivity which is no longer in the arena of poetic justice. Art of the feminine has to evade and avoid a phallo-logo centric discourse and become a subjective manifestation of a lesbian democracy. Next I would like to take up Picasso’s ‘seated Dora Mar’. From his biography I understand that Dora Mar is one of Picasso’s lovers. Dora Mar’s face is garangatuanized to a presence of artistic captured. In it one can visualize the choking horror of ugliness. The search of Picasso to be an incurable romantic is over. Romantic takes on the dimension of the neurotic. Picasso becomes disenchanted with the realism of romanticism.
I am not dealing with Children here. The readers I assume are well acknowledged with the species of the metaphor. I would like to mention the name of the Philosopher Aristotle who coined the name of the metaphor. According to him: “metaphor is the invention of genius”. I take his step as a predecessor. In this essay I am planning to describe the various types of metaphor. The various types metaphor are experiential metaphor, spatial metaphor, sensory metaphor and analogical metaphor. Now I would like to dissect each of these metaphors with examples and application. Now what is an experiential metaphor? Let’s work out this with an example. I would like to quote Camus work: ‘the myth of the Sisyphus’. In it a man is burdened with a rock. Each time he loads the rock on his shoulders and trudges uphill, he to his consternation is pushed down again. I would like to classify this example of a metaphor as belonging to an experiential one. Now what would be an example of a Spatial Metaphor? Let’s take Shakespeare’s example: “All the World’s a Stage.” In this the stage becomes pregnant with the reality of spatiality. Now what would be an example of a sensory metaphor? Let’s take a Bible tale. When Jesus was baptized in water by John the Baptist it was recorded in the gospels: “The holy spirit descended upon him like a dove”. This is a classic example of a sensory metaphor. Now what would be an example of an analogical metaphor? An analogy implies a comparison. For example let’s take the example of a full moon. It does represent a pregnant woman’s belly. This would be a classic example of an analogical metaphor.
I found this doctor right in the heart of the market place. Laid on the ground beside him were baskets of roots, herby leaves, and exotic seeds. He had a battery operated microphone through which he blared his voice. He tried to attract people boasting to the extent that he had an antidote to cure even aids. Whenever I used to go to the market, I used to become attracted by his charms. Of course there were many people falling for his tricks. His other favorite remedies included a cure for rheumatism, arthritis, asthma and what not. He was at the market place all day long till the market ended. As days went by I noticed his absence. I became puzzled as to why he was not coming. One day I decided to ask his neighboring vegetable seller as to what happened to him. The reply I got was shocking. According to him the road side doctor was diagnosed with Jaundice and Aids and he passed away in the hospital.
Let me tell you at the outset, I am a passionate drinker. Why I drink? It awakens my subconscious, all my repressed stored in the culture of India as a great civilization. I am a down done failure. I hate to be Indian. I can’t be Jewish or Hellenic. I extend V S Naipaul’s phrase, “I am not in India alone, but I am in a global area of darkness”. I can only seek a wounded restoration in a Diaspora which I am not accustomed to. Why I am blaming myself? The Hellenic, the Hinduic, the Christian, the Jewish all succumb me to an Ontology of Nothingness. I am in a paradox, caught up with the bright stars of the West and the dismal stars of the East. Let alone these Philosophical inclinations, why does the Kerala Government, the fucked up Congress government allow a person to drink with dignity? First of all it monopolizes all alcohol beverage outlets. Do you know where they are? They exist in shoddy barns, grimly asbetosized and covered with metal gates. A person has to stand in a long serpentine queue before reaching the damned counter. Who are the persons standing before and after me? They stink with drunken sweat. I pose the question to the Congress govt. of Kerala why can’t you have the guts to demonopolize and secure alcohol outlets to all shops. The irony of the fact is that the rich drink in four star and five star hotels. Why the fuck do you regard drinking as a Catholic sin? Why the fuck do you cancel bar licenses and then secure a huge amount of bribes to open those outlets? That is the strangest paradox. Why do you treat the proletarians, the working class, and the subaltern in this dastardly manner? I know you bastards and sons of bitches, you consume the best fucking liquor, you fuck the best women, and your scams go unheeded. So what’s wrong with you fuckers, why don’t you let the working class rejoice in their agonies and their happiness?
